Dear Supermodel

Dear Gisele Bundchen-

You seem to be a fabulous supermodel.
You should stick to that.
Please do not force your opinions on breastfeeding on others.

"I think there should be a worldwide law in my opinion, that mothers should breast-feed their babies for six months," said Bundchen, 30.

She went on to criticize American women who do not breast-feed their babies.

"Some people here [in the U.S.] think they don't have to breast-feed, and I think 'Are you going to give chemical food to your child when they are so little?'" she said.

So, I don't usually have an opinion. {Laughing laughing!} Honestly, I think breastfeeding is great. What I don't like is having some celebrity throw out their opinion and think this is how people should live, simply because she says so.

What I find especially interesting that while she feels this way, she obviously feels she is above the law. She only breastfed her son for 3 weeks.

Why give your opinion when you don't even follow it?

Like, Tom Cruise stating that psychiatric drugs are not necessary when HE obviously needs them. But that is for another post...a LONG one at that.

What do you think about what she said?
And, what celebrities drive you crazy with their senseless banter?

Well I guess I am going to be the a-hole on this because I think women should breastfeed. T has and I think our kids have been so much better off because of it. Before getting married and having kids, I knew nothing about any of this but now, I feel it is so important to breastfeed. So while I don't care that she only did it for weeks, I am happy she got breastfeeding in the news once again. But I am just a guy, what do I know?

And celebrities - Im not sure, Im kind of tired of the Brangelina deal talking aobut giving money to New Orleans when they only live there a month out of 12

I may have not come across just how I wanted to in my post...I am certainly in favor of breastfeeding. I just don't like how celebrities give their opinions as if their way is the only way. I breastfed my boys as long as I was able to (4 weeks, 6 weeks) but was unable to do so with Lily due to postpartum depression and need for meds.
I think every woman should give it their full effort to breastfeed. If it doesn't work out for you because of low milk supply or what-have-you, then I don't think the expertise of Gisele Bunchden should be the reasoning behind your decision.

I agree with you Rachel. She should stick to modeling. I was anti anything Gisele said after she told a magazine that giving birth didnt hurt at all and losing all the weight was easy. She lost all credibility in my book after that :)
