Lily Graduated

Lily graduated from preschool...in May...I'm late!
She was such a cute graduate! It's hard to believe she begins kindergarden next week!

Easter

So this is very much overdue...Easter was a fun time with family. Seeing the cousins together is always special. And mom had some adventures planned. We went to the botanical Gardens and then to a dolphin watch on a boat. The dolphins actually jumped out of the water right next to us! It was remarkable!

Broken Arm

And...the first child to break a bone in the Eyre household is...

Wednesday night, Lily fell off of our playground in the backyard. She broken her ulna and radius. She was in so much pain!
Two days later, we were at the orthopedic dr, getting a cast! The pain comes and goes but she is a trooper.
Purple was the color of choice for her new cast:
She said some funny things during this ordeal.
First, I knew it was bad when on the way to the hospital, she wouldn't let me play the "Frozen" soundtrack. She wanted it silent.
She also told me that wished we never had a playground.

Once the meds kicked in, she told us that this was the best night of her life, since she was getting a cast. :)

She then had to have her bones manipulated when they put her cast on. She was in so much pain. She said "I wish one of the boys broke their arm instead of me...like Jackson."
What a sweetie she is!
Anyhow, we managed to do the annual night time Easter egg hunt. I followed her everywhere. I'm a nervous nelly that she will fall again.

Never a dull moment around here.

Running

I have been training for a half marathon for a few months. It has been hard for me, as I could only really run on the weekends. I used my Christmas break from school to up my miles tremendously but once school started back up, my time was really limited!
Anyhow, yesterday, I ran my first half marathon! I can't believe I did it! It was quite the accomplishment and I actually really enjoyed it. I will probably train for another one in the fall but for now, I am going to let these muscles and joints rest. Some pictures from the event:
The signs for my family to hold:
Lily-
My Mom-
Parker-
Jackson-
(Said "I'd rather be playing Minecraft." I can't get his picture to come up)
Willie- (Was a surprise to me)
Crossing the finish line was overwhelmingly emotional. I am so thankful that my family was there to cheer me on!

Valentine's Day

love making Valentines for the kids! I know that the time is coming where the boys will tell me I am embarrassing. However, it hasn't happened yet so I am still enjoying this holiday!
Lily and I unwrapped her old crayons and broke them into pieces. We put them in the silicone heart pans and put them in the oven. They came out cute and we recycled those crayons!

For the boys, I saw a cute idea on Pinterest and asked them what they thought. Luckily, they were all for it!

Willie and I wrote each other notes all week...that's about as festive as we get. 😄
Hope your Valentine's Day was perfect!

Crazy Busy!

We have been very busy with the start of high school baseball (Willie is pitching coach) and the kids sports (basketball and baseball).
Here is a recap of our month of January!
We spent New Years hanging on our street with friends. It was a fun time!
With the New Year came some changes!
We cheered on FSU as they won the National Championship!
The boys started basketball!
Willie and I celebrated 10 years of marriage! Woohoo!!
Lily started a new school, where she has dance once a week. She is so close to Bonita Springs Charter where I teach. This has been the greatest blessing so far!
Willie continued to be an amazing dad, painting Lily's nails one night after I put in her sponge curlers. She's so glamorous!
Parker continues to be a great reader. He has logged more than 200 books this school year. This stack is the books he has read but has not logged in yet! Yikes!
I was blessed to go to a school event with some of my favorite teacher friends. Our school is becoming a Leader in Me school and we were able to hear Ron Clark talk! He was so motivational!
What a blessing life is for us lately! We continue to hang on to any free family time we have together! Life is busy but beautiful!

Jackson and Willie

Here is a short video on these two doing what they love together!!!

Lily's Milestone

A little video I made about our little gal

Thoughtful Students

I love my students! I have a mixed gifted class of 4th/5th graders. The 5th graders had me last year so we have such a bond! For Christmas, one of the students brought in a jar and slips of paper for each student. They each write what they liked about having me for a teacher. When they presented me with the jar, I cried! That was the most thoughtful gift!

December

We had a very busy month! I ran a few 5K races with some friends...
We had some fire pits in the backyard...

We decorated for Christmas...
This little elf had her Christmas dance performance...
Our Elf on the Shelf, Noodle returned...
We went to see the Christmas Lights and completed a scavenger hunt during our search...
We baked cookies...
We went to church with these silly faces on...
But mostly, we have been blessed! Life is beautiful right now and we are enjoying our two weeks off with the kids!
We hope you have had a great Christmas!

Parker's School Work

Some of Parker's schoolwork makes us laugh. He has so many ideas...
Some of his writing makes us so proud...
And this email he sent me made me melt...

Jackson Turns 9!

Jackson was having a tough time deciding who to invite to his birthday party and what kind of party he wanted to have. He has two very good friends and then many other friends. He finally decided that he would rather take a couple friends to dinner and to the hockey game for the Teddy Bear toss and then have a sleepover. One of his best buds is out of the country but his other awesome friend was able to come! It made his day so much fun!
First, we went to dinner. Then, Willie, Jackson, and Jonathan went to the hockey game.
I asked if I could go but he said he would rather have Willie go. Ha!

It was a great birthday! I can't believe it's been 9 years! He's such a unique kid. I love who he is.
