For the past 14 years, my husband has
been a professional baseball player. Baseball has given us so many
things and brought us to so many places.
We've lived in New Britain,
Connecticut, Rochester, New York (twice), Maracay, Venezuela (three
times), Minneapolis, Minnesota, Surprise, Arizona (twice), Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma (twice), Arlington, Texas, Colleyville, Texas,
Phoenix, Arizona, Sacramento, California, Norfolk, Virginia (twice),
Baltimore, Maryland, and Round Rock, Texas. Willie has been a
Elizabethton Twin, River Bandit, a Miracle, Rock Cat, a Red Wing, a
Tigre, a Twin, a Redhawk, a Ranger, a Rivercat, a Tide, an Oriole,
and an Express.
But, the time has come to move on to
the next phase of our life. Willie has decided to retire and see
where God wants him to go next. We are truly grateful for the
opportunities we have had and the wonderful friendships we have made
along the way.
I am incredibly proud of the hard work
he has put into this life and know that the same perseverance he had
as a baseball player will be of utmost importance as he moves onto
the next career path, wherever that may be.
I am also incredibly excited to have a
“normal” life where I will not have to go months without seeing
my husband and the children will not have a countdown of 70-something
days until they see their Daddy.
So, pray for us please as we move onto
this next phase. It's exciting and scary but we are confident in
God's plan for us. “I
know not what the future holds, but I know who holds the future.”
