Baseball "Wives" Show

If you are friends with me on Facebook, you know how outraged I am by this show. VH1 premiered Baseball Wives last night and it was every bit the train wreck I thought it would be...and more.

It is obviously VERY scripted and hardly reality in our baseball lifestyle. I don't dance on bars, I don't wear furs around the house (or anywhere for that matter), I don't fight with other wives, and I don't strip down and jump in pools drunk. I don't know any wives who actually do these things.

Willie has been playing professional baseball since 1997. I have been around since 2002. We have met MANY baseball wives and certainly have our fair share of strange stories. But, our stories are PG-13, at best. What I wish they would show is the absolutely amazing women that I have been lucky enough to call my friends. These ladies are truly awesome and are the REAL wives in baseball.

I have a friend who packs up her husband's bag before every road trip. I know a wife who cooks a 4 course meal after every game (at 11p.m.) for her hubby to have a home-cooked meal. I know wives who have to pack up their whole home mid-season and move across the country with kids, after a trade has happened. I know wives who home-school so they can be with their hubby during season. I know wives who don't have nannies and still make it all work. I know wives who work and still travel to see their husbands whenever possible. I know wives who want to become moms and struggle. I know wives who have to pick up the pieces when the baseball life is over. THESE are amazing women, whose title of "Baseball Wife" is real!

So, if you watched the show and even for a minute thought "Is this how baseball life is?" I can assure you, it is not. We are all baseball sisters who support each other and form strong bonds during every season.

Evidently, our crazy lifestyle is not enough drama for television.

Not to mention 2 of the girls r EX wives and talk about their divorces and one of the girls dated a ballplayer and isn't even with him anymore...how's she a baseball WIFE?!!? Just another crap TV show thats nowhere near reality!

Well said girl!! That show was a joke. I wish they would make a real show about what it's truly like. I think people would be way more interested!!
