Sewing Hope

When Lily was born and I began sewing, I never considered that this would last.

I thought it would be something I like to do and would give up in a short time.

After all, with our crazy moving, a sewing/embroidery machine

and all of the gadgets that go with it, is hardly conducive to travel.

But, you see...God has other plans.

I was reading a blog I like when I came across a plug from the author for this children's charity that makes hospital gowns for little ones.

I decided I would contact them and see how I could help.

The other part of God's plan was that the creator of the group, Keri, lives in Texas.

We were in Texas for baseball season. In fact, we lived minutes from Keri.

She has become a close friend.

I am so inspired by Keri and her ability to open her heart to what God is asking her to do.

She is always looking for ways to make Heartfelt Couture helpful

to more children and families out there.

Last year, I had a gown cutting night with the wives of the Rangers.

We then went on to distribute the 40 or so gowns to a local children's hospital.

I was also contacted by another baseball wife, who had a child going into the hospital.

That was one of the most touching things I have ever done.

She was so gracious and I was so incredibly glad that I had the ability to help.

A couple of weeks ago, I saw that some people were praying for a young girl on facebook.

I decided to ask what was going on and thought of Heartfelt after hearing about this little girl.

I made her a Tinkerbell hospital gown and Keri made her a prayer pillow.

It truly is amazing how God has taken this talent He has given me and provided a way for me to use it to help others. I pray over each child I am making a gown for while I am doing so.
