The Most Special Times of Christmas

We got the kids all dressed and ready to go to church.

And even though we got there 15 minutes early, we still had to stand.

I will admit that I dreaded that for a short bit.

I was thinking the kids would be restless and louder than usual.

And I was dreading having to stand myself.

{Not proud of feeling this.}

Then, I watched as a man with a walker, barely able to move, worked his way to the last pew with his wife. The usher quickly got the man a folding chair to sit on.

Then, I watched another older man, sitting in the back pew, get up and tell the man's wife to sit there, so that they could sit together.

That man stood the rest of the mass next to us.

And I decided that we would be just fine standing; that Christmas is about Jesus and giving.

And, I will tell you that the kids were better behaved than they have ever been at church.

It was amazing and I am so glad that we were able to enjoy Christmas mass.

Later that evening, we hosted our first family Christmas Eve party.

I think it went well and a good time was had by all.

The next two pictures are so special to me. Lily sometimes takes a little bit to warm up to people she doesn't see all of the time. But, this is not the case with Bobshka. {I am certain that this is not the correct spelling, but this is how we say Grandma in Polish.}

Lily LOVES my Grandma! She snuggled up in the chair with her and watched the party.

They talked and talked.

And enjoyed each other.

THIS is what Christmas is about.
