OKC Ladies

The ladies here in OKC are really great!
And to think: we started this year with only 2 ladies out here
{If you count me as a lady which I do, so you should. It's only polite. And it is MY blog & all.}
Anyhow, moving right along...you see people don't realize how important
these relationships in baseball are for us wives.
While those on the outside are perfectly capable of being good friends,
there is quite a connection with the girls who live this life.
We've all felt the uncertainty in baseball {most of us on a weekly basis},
the desire for your loved one to succeed,
and the hope for one hit or one good outing
{depending on what your man does out on that field.}
We've all sat on the edge of our seats watching the boys play ball.
We've cheered. We've sighed.
We've wished for extra innings to not exist.
{Seriously, 9 innings seems to be a great amount. Anything more isn't fair.
I'm all for a tie. They do it in soccer.}
We've all had to be apart at one time or another for baseball and regular life.
{Real life does go on ya know!}
Sometimes, the breaks are for a couple days and are easily managed.
Other times, we are alone for weeks on end.
Or months.
And it is so hard.

What makes an otherwise long season bearable is the knowledge that you have a baseball family that is there for you. You have girls who will offer to help out when you need it.
You have the ability to help someone through a tough time.

I have made some wonderful friends throughout the years of baseball; friendships that have withstood years without seeing each other.
Yet, when we get back together, it is as if we never were apart.

And for that, I am so thankful to be a part of this life.

So true! I'm not an OKC lady, but I'm a baseball wife, and it's definitely an interesting job. :) We are a strong group of women, and it's great to have the support of other women that are in the same position.

Very true Rach! I'm so glad you finally got a group of girls there. I was so worried for you in the beginning when it was just the two of you girls and your kids not having any others to play with. God was looking out for you!
