I have had some wonderful examples of a Father in my life.
The first person that comes to mind is Stanley Pelak, my grandfather. Grandpa was amazing. Seriously, the greatest mix of manly and sweet and nobody can ever replace him or what he meant in my life. I can look back and see that our family moving to Ft. Myers when I was in 7th grade was the greatest gift. I was able to get to know my grandfather so much more than if we had stayed in Winter Park.
The second person is my brother Jason. He is six years older (and perhaps wiser) than me and I always felt he was a great guidance. Sure, we fought like WWF Wrestlers brothers and sisters, but he was certainly a fatherly influence. I remember being nervous to ask him what he thought of something, simply because we thought completely opposite. I thought recklessly and he was/is more strategic.
The third is my Mom. Now, manly...she is not. But, she is one strong woman who can hold her own. She showed me how to be a mom. I will always be grateful for the mother she was and still is. She is amazing.
The fourth and most recent, is my husband. Willie is so good with the kids. I knew Willie was a good person when we married, but I hardly knew just how he would be as a father. He is so much fun! He plays and plays and plays. And he also teaches the kids wrong from right and explains everything to them so well. He takes such great care of those kids. He is Jackson and Parker's best friend and owns the heart of that little lady Lily.
Happy Father's Day to you all!
