Our Children's Names

I am doing "Show Us Your Life" from Kelly's Korner Blog.

This week's edition is "Your Kid's Names."

With all of our kiddos, we chose a first name we liked and a middle name that honored someone in our family.

Our firstborn: Jackson William

We chose Jackson while we were engaged. We loved that the name was masculine and could be shortened to Jack if he decided later on.

William is after daddy...which was a fought over subject! Willie didn't want a junior.
I think he wanted the kids to have their own identity, which I understand.
But, a middle name isn't the same and after awhile, he agreed.

Our Middle Son: Parker Joseph

We chose Parker, after months of not knowing what to pick. I had Parker picked out from the start. I
 love the name!!

Joseph could be after anyone in our families since we have alot of them!
But, Parker's middle name is in honor of Willie's grandfather.

Our girl: Lily Jane

We had this name picked out since our engagement too. We LOVE the name Lily.
However, it does become confusing during phone conversations with Willie being the Daddy and Lily being the daughter.

It also happens that my great grandmother's name is Lillian, though we didn't realize that when we chose the name.

Jane is after my Grandmother. She is a fabulous person and I can only hope Lily has the same love for Church and God as Grandma does.
