He looked like he may cry...
He did well in his 2 innings of work.
And was smiling so much when he finished up that he had to hide his face with his glove...
It was so cute!
His next outing didn't do as planned but it was just a rough day at the office.
Here are some pictures of the guys in the bullpen...
And notice the STANLEY sign next to the bullpen here in Texas...Grandpa sure is watching, isn't he?
Willie was not pleased with me taking the next pictures, as he left on a plane for Toronto. We pull our cars right up to the plane and the guys go right on. The boys thought this was cool. I am sure his teammates thought I was a dork, taking pictures.
Willie pitched in Toronto a couple of days ago and most of you know by now that while he pitched well...he got hurt. He pulled his groin and was taken out of the game. I was scared to see him come out but was relieved that it was not his arm.
This happened at 10:30 p.m. in Toronto and he was on a flight and back in Texas by 11:00 a.m.
He went to the doctor and had an MRI. He will be rehabbing his groin now and hopes to be back in time for his 15 days to be up. Please keep him in your prayers, as he is disappointed. He worked SO incredibly hard to get back after Tommy John Elbow surgery and now for this to happen...it is rough on him.
I know that all will be fine and this is part of God's plan.
We sure are enjoying having him here!
