My Secret Job

I have been keeping it a secret.

I have a job.

I realized that I might as well come clean after last night.

I am a Hospital Critic. Like a Food Critic who travels all over in order to taste food and rate it.

I obviously, have a job, to check all of the hospitals in every place we land.

Last night, Parker came into my room at 11:30, gasping for air.

It was the worst thing I have ever heard.

And...I have heard it all, or so I thought.

I have heard Lily with RSV and Asthma Breathing.

I have heard the boys with Croup.

I was in straight panic mode, as Willie is out of town. I brought him outisde into the cool air to help him breathe. Then, I gave him a nebulizer treatment of Lily's.

I was THIS CLOSE to calling 9-1-1. His lips were blue and his face was pale. I was terrified.

I got in my car and met my girlfriend at the hospital, where she took my other two home with her.

Can I just tell you that this woman is absolutely amazing? She has a 3 year old and a 2 month old and she woke them up and took them to come get my kids. (Her husband is on the road as well!)She then got everyone back to sleep at her house. Seriously, she saved me last night. Thank you Thank you Karen!

Parker had croup. They think it may have been induced by the wildfires around here, as he had NO OTHER SYMPTOMS!

So, he received a variety of steroids and an epi treatment.

He is coughing a bit this morning but otherwise, doing well!

I am so grateful that he is okay and realized that I completely panic under extreme pressure!

I love Parker with all of my heart...just like my other babies. It was an evening I will never forget. I plan to hug them all a little tighter today, as we rest from our night out.

***On a VERY different topic: Willie pitched in a minor league game last night on his rehab assignment. He had 2 strike-outs and a walk. And felt no pain. He is due to throw again this weekend.***

Oh my word...that had to be so scary. Especially with your husband on the road and knowing you had to load up and head to the ER. Thank goodness you had a friend you could lean on.

I am glad to hear Parker is doing better. I have heard about all the fires in Kansas and Oklahoma...

And in regards to your post below, my kids do the same thing!! Gentry eats the hot dogs and Huntler eats the mac and cheese!

Have a wonderful Easter weekend! Hope you guys are adjusting and doing well!
